Interpol live at Glastonbury 25/06/2005

Interpol is an American band who formed in 1998, and is one of the bands who helped begin the post-punk revival in the early 2000's. They are associated with the New York indie scene, and have been compared to post-punk bands such as Joy Division, Jesus and Mary Chain and Echo and the Bunnymen. Their sound is generally a mix of deep bass throb, harmonized guitar, with a snare heavy drum mix, and emotional, monotone-esque singing. Their first album Turn On the Bright Lights was highly acclaimed, and their two subsequent records, Antics and Our Love to Admire, have cemented them at the forefront of modern indie rock.

This video file is of Interpol live at the famous Glastonbury Festival in 2005. Interpol play a blistering set in front of a huge, adoring Glastonbury crowd. The video image quality for this video is not of DVD quality; however, the sound is very good and it is well worth a watch. A highlight of this show is the highly atmospheric live version of "NYC". Enjoy!

Setlist:
Next Exit
Slow Hands
NARC
Say Hello To The Angels
C'mere
NYC
Not Even Jail

Bruce Springsteen the Express Tour 1988

Support the artists!

Bruce Springsteen is an American singer-songwriter, who was inspired by the likes of Elvis, The Beatles and Bob Dylan. Coming from a working class New Jersey background, the man who is nicknamed "The Boss" has doubtlessly become one of the biggest names in rock and roll. Springsteen formed the E Street band in 1972, and has been alternating between writing albums full of rock and roll anthems and somber acoustic-folk ever since.

Bruce Springsteen has become most well known for anthemic rock songs, deeply personal and emotional poetic lyrics, and hour’s long marathon concerts. It has not always been plane sailing, Springsteen’s first two records did not sell well despite the critical acclaim they received. In fact, The E Street Band was considering disbanding if their third record, Born to Run, did not produce any success. Success came. The album was received well and given a great deal of radio airtime, due to its lyrical imagery, the thundering dynamic rock songs on it, and its sense of sincere desperate optimism.

Springsteen's musical career went from strength to strength after that. His legendary Born in the USA album sold more than 12 million copies in America alone. Songs from that album remained in the US and British singles charts for two and a half years. Springsteen has earned
numerous awards for his work, including 19 Grammy Awards, 2 Golden Globes and an Academy Award, and has built up a large following all over the world having sold over 120 million records worldwide.

This video file consists of a full Bruce Springsteen show from the Express Tour in 1988 as well as some footage of other highlights of the rest of that tour. The Express Tour show has an interesting set list with quite a few covers, including a great version of The Beatles "Twist and Shout". The highlights of the Express Tour footage includes the E Street Band busking acoustically on a busy street. They perform "I'm On Fire", "The River" and "Dancing in the Dark" to the delight of all present. Enjoy!

The Ramones Live in San Bernardino

The Ramones were one of the first punk rock groups, who formed in New York in 1974. In their 22 year career they performed 2263 concerts full of powerful, short, fast, and loud rock and roll songs. They became famous for exactly that; stripped back, simple rock and roll that was in direct conflict with the over the top progressive rock scene that was prevalent at the time of their formation. They were a major influence on many of the bands in the UK and US punk scenes, as well as many metal bands, though they never achieved a great deal of commercial success. However, recognition of the band has built over the years, and they are now cited in many assessments of all time great rock music.

Here is a live video bootleg of the Ramones at Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernardino, 3/9/1982. The performance is at the US Festival, a three day extravaganza that had hundreds of thousands of people in attendance and included many of the top bands at the time (The Ramones, The Police, The Kinks, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Fleetwood Mac). The Ramones performance is a professional shoot, captured by four cameras. The honorary Ramones producer Ed Stasium mixed the sound for this film that was intended to feature on a documentary about the festival, which was not released.

Enjoy!

The Clash Live in Tokyo

Support the bands!

The Clash's gig at Sun Plaza Tokyo 01/02/1982 is one of their most bootlegged shows, and it is easy to see why. They are at their recklessly fabulous best, performing fast and furious punk rock songs with machinegun like precision, while incorporating R&B, reggae, dub, rock'n'roll, and rockabilly influences. This show also features Pearl Harbour, the lead singer for the San Franciscan new wave group The Explosions. She performs with The Clash on "Police on My Back", and "Fujiyama Mama", a Wanda Jackson cover, during the encore. This gig was recorded by professionals for Japanese television and radio, so the bootlegs are of high quality. This, along with The Clash’s great performance, makes the bootlegs of this performance some of the most popular recordings of the band available.

This video bootleg of the show was shown on Japanese television at the time. The sound was recorded on the sound board, and there are multiple camera angles, which makes for great viewing. The Clash are on top form, performing a retrospective set that includes songs from all of their LP's out at that time. Enjoy!

Setlist:

London Calling, Safe European Home, White Man In Hammersmith Palais, Brand New Cadillac, Charlie Don't Surf, Clampdown, Radio Clash, Armagideon Time, Jimmy Jazz, Tommy Gun, Fujiyama Mama (feat. Pearl Harbor), Police on My Back (feat. Pearl Harbor), White Riot
