The Kinks Live in Paris 24/04/1965

Support the bands!

Here is another live rock'n'roll video bootleg for you.

The Kinks are an English rock group formed by the Davies brothers, Ray and Dave, in the mid 1960's. They were categorized as one of the British Invasion bands in the USA and have been described as one of the most influential bands of all time. It's not hard to see why with hard hitting singles like "You Really Got Me", which has become a template for many bands since. During the punk and new wave era, bands such as The Jam, the Knack and the Pretenders covered Kinks songs, while The Clash rewrote the riff for "All Day and All of the Night" and used it to write their song "1977". More recently, bands like Blur, Oasis, Supergrass, The Killers, The Libertines, and Franz Ferdinand, all have cited The Kinks as a major influence.

This bootleg of is surprisingly good quality considering it is from all the way back in 1965. It was recorded for French television on the 24th of April 1965, and the sound and picture are great. The Kinks are in fine form performing a short, sharp exciting set featuring the hits off their first two albums. This is a really great show, essential viewing!
