The Gaslight Anthem, The Go Set, Flogging Molly and the Disables on Moshcam!

Moshcam is a website that streams live music on the internet, so that anybody around the world can view live footage of quality artists for free. The shows that are placed on the site are all recorded at venues in my hometown Sydney, Australia. Here are a few of the bands that are featured, head over to the site for more. Enjoy!

"Even Cowgirls Get the Blues" by the Gaslight Anthem live at the Annandale Hotel, Sydney.

The Gaslight Anthem is an American rock/punk band from New Brunswick, New Jersey. They have released two full length albums, Sink or Swim in 2007 and The 59' Sound in 2008, which have been hits for fans and critics alike. The Gaslight Anthem's music embraces the sounds of fellow New Jersey rocker Bruce Springsteen, as well as The Cure, and The Clash. The band has described their sound as "Bruce Springsteen singing for a Cure cover band, with a tinge more aggression." I was at this gig and they really are a great live band.

Watch the rest of the Gaslight Anthem live at the Annandale Hotel 30/07/2008 here...

"Portland 3:15" by The Go Set live at the Annandale Hotel, Sydney.

The Go Set is a working class folk punk band from Melbourne, Australia. They combine traditional Celtic folk music and seventies punk rock, with an Australian social and political emphases in their lyrics. The Go Set are like seeing The Pogues, Weddings Parties Anything, Billy Bragg and Midnight Oil all jamming on stage together, after having consumed copious amounts of booze. Enjoy!

The Disables playing "I Hung My Head" at The Forum, Sydney.

The Disables play hard, anthemic, alcohol fuelled punk rock songs. They are from Brisbane, Australia and have toured with the likes of "Against Me, Bouncing Souls, Dropkick Murphy’s, The Unseen, Anti Flag, NOFX, Flogging Molly and The Clash etc", according to their website (Can you spot the fake). They have released one album, Nuthin' For No One, and an EP, The Lackey Country. Here they are performing a cover of Sting's "I Hung My Head".

"Paddy's Lament" by Flogging Molly at The Forum, Sydney.

Flogging Molly is a seven-piece band from Los Angeles, California. They play fast tempo Celtic folk tunes having been influenced by bands such as The Pogues, The Dubliners, Stiff Little Fingers, Johnny Cash and The Clash. They put on a raucous live show, with catchy tunes and lots of energy. You don't have to take my word for it, just watch this...
